Pros

The Global nature of Nike allows for international travel and work experience. There are so many departments and functions, and job shifts between them are possible. The culture is dedicated to "work hard, play hard"; the environment is very supportive of a daily work-life balance (expectations of workload depend on function and manager most of the time). If you're an avid sport participant, there are constant opportunities to participate, organize, view. If you're tough, outgoing, a good presenter, and a "big picture" person; and know how to hang with the "in-crowd", this can be an exciting, dynamic company with great career paths.

Cons

Careers can "stall" for various intangible reasons at a certain level. Performance Evaluations are inconsistent. True upward mobility seems to come from an "old-boys" network that is strong, or fitting a perfect "Nike" profile (athletic, cool, nonchalant). Women - If you're in product, marketing or business, it is very difficult for any typical strong business woman to get a real chance at a career path to the big jobs. But if you're Legal, HR or Corporate Responsibility, this company will develop you. The company also puts incredible importance on "presentation" style; and this is somewhat limiting for ESL employees, although not insurmountable.

Pros

Working at Nike was a great experience overall. The company culture is energetic, inclusive, and team-oriented. Management encourages employees to embody the Nike brand and provides opportunities for growth within retail and corporate roles. Employee discounts are excellent and make it easy to enjoy the products you sell. The work environment is fast-paced, especially during launches and holiday seasons, which keeps the job engaging. I also appreciated working alongside passionate teammates who genuinely cared about customer service and creating a positive shopping experience.

Cons

Retail schedules can be inconsistent and often include nights, weekends, and holidays. During peak periods, the store can become extremely busy, which can be stressful when balancing customer service expectations with operational tasks. Advancement opportunities can vary depending on store location and management structure.
