I have been working at NIKE full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Excellent benefits - 401(k), Health Insurance (Med / Vision / Dental), ESPP, annual bonus, Company Store. Health Center membership is currently free after MANY years of being about $30-$40/month. Child care when COVID wasn't a thing. Nike can be a fun, challenging, and dynamic company to work for.

    Cons

The company is terribly top-heavy in Director-and-above management. Matrix management can be tough to get your head around. Work/life balance can sometimes be secondary. Individual contributor ranks in the IT space are very top-heavy with ETW workers. The company is very tied to share price & growth.

I worked at NIKE full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Working for Nike was a highlight of my career. I worked with amazing people on incredibly cool projects and had opportunities that I may not have had at other companies. PTO and other benefits are top notch.

    Cons

You have to make a personal commitment to maintain your work/life balance or wind up working completely crazy hours. Some of the teams and managers can be pretty toxic. My experience was 99% working with terrifically supportive managers. 1% was with a dysfunctional team and a self-serving manager.

I worked at NIKE full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

An incredibly creative and educational place to work. You learn so many business and communication skills, while managing the coolest projects in the world. These are certainly covet-worthy jobs. Great benefits and perks.

    Cons

Game of Thrones is real, and it is called Nike. This company is extremely bureaucratic, with too many hoops to jump through for any decision. If you're not part of the favored group, you're made to less than - Indespensible, of no value on your own, and like you should be happy to just have a job. Over the years it became more of a popularity contest vs spotlighting real talent. Work/life balance is extremely poor. Great internal culture is talked about, but not carried through by team leaders.
