Pros

Benefits and location were decent

Cons

Extremely toxic environment. Coworkers don’t really care about each other, are selfish and management pins people against each other. Coworkers are not willing to help each other out unless it benefits them. Expect to work 10 hours overtime every week with no appreciation, more likely “why didn’t you do more” from management. You are supposed to get two ten minute breaks everyday but coworkers and management are upset if you take them. When you do go to management with an issue nothing is done they just gaslight you. Pay is minimal. They will make promises they have no intention of keeping, ex. a raise or promotion. They also will hire externally before promoting from within. Everyone at NAMSA is struggling and many are actively applying for other jobs. Worst experience I have ever had. Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy.

Pros

You get a lot of leeway with your schedule in the study director group if you get your work down without complainants and are available when the lab needs you. WFH. Coworkers are alright, I've had a lot worse.

Cons

No actual bonus, but they include it in the "total compensation package" value and use to hold the possibility in front of you to pull as much work from you for as little pay as possible then pull it away at the last minute. Very stressful. Understaffed. Systemic issues that will likely never be fixed. Run by venture capitalist firm who is doing everything to squeeze every last cent from the company. Cutting cost is the priority now rather than good science. NAMSA used to do "good science" and now, it's just "science". It would be bad science if the employees didn't have integrity. The top leadership doesn't seem to understand the day-to-day activities and how their decisions affect the employees. Burnout is at an all time high.
