Pros

I have worked in MuSigma for 2 years now. And I swear I love it more than how much i did one year back. I,personally, have had an amazing journey here. Good projects, good managers, good friends - everything. I will explain what I love here. 1) Chilled out attitude It is like extended college. Very chilled out attitude and all that. My colleagues are my closest friends. Some are more than family! This has been one of the reasons why though I dont have work-life balance, I have work life harmony. I have the freedom to do things my way - I prefer working late at night and I do that. Most days you can spot me reading random books like 'Medieval European History' during mornings - no one bats an eye. 2) Yes, you heard it right - working hours could be hectic For the past 6 months I have been in a pilot engagement. Life was hectic. Everyone else in the team were freshers. We worked most weekends. There was a period of 25 days when we worked every single day - for 14 to 16 hours per day. I was exhausted and frustrated - but i can tell one thing - not once did i think about quitting. None of us did. After initial hic-cups, we had fun doing the work. We loved it. And I learnt a lot. This is not a norm. Most people stay 10 to 12 hours normally - but how many hours they work is a different question all together. 3)Work There is always going to be some amount of repetative work. As I mentioned, I have been lucky to have amazing folks as team leads and managers. I have been given variety and oppurtunities even before i asked for it. Yes there is a lot of report development. Some people think report development is a third grade work. But not me- thats where i have learn data and business the best - and I feel it is more consumed than most predicitve models that are build. I personally feel happy when my effort is consumed than building a statistical model that might get shelved. Having said that, let me also add. I know lot of freshers who build models - there are oppurtunities aplenty - and a lot of variety.I have worked on myriad varieties of problems in the past 1.5 years in delivery - Loyalty Management, Campaign Analytics, Customer Experience, Fraud Analytics - across different verticals and businesses! You can get involved in pre-sales if you like. You can do just about anything and everything. 4) Oppurtunities Outside Trust me. If you have been here for sometime - everyone wants you outside. And they are ready to pay nearly twice what you currently draw. Why havent I taken it? I am terrified about life outside MuSigma 5) If Dhiraj was evaluated at ~16K crores (with a ~600% jump), something that he is doing is right - with a better revenue model and much lesser marketing than the other highly evaluated start-ups in the list!

Cons

1) If you want to earn lot of money - and have commitments and resonsibilities- this in not the place. But I dont want to be happy on 31st when the salary is credited and crib about doing work I dont like for the next 30 days 2) There are good managers. There are bad managers - But thats the case everywhere. I have seen friends getting frustrated about work here and not getting enough help from managers and quitting out of frustration. I have friends who let MuSigma who cant understand why I love it here. I guess - there will always be someone you can reach out to fix issues if you have - but that is not a problem that i have faced personally here so far 3) Onsite Oppurtunities are lesser than before 4) Sometimes there are non-performers around you. They pull you down - This happens everywhere. But it is kind of sad to know they are earning the same amount as you - and they nearly nver get fired.
