Pros

I've been able to use my creativity in certain areas and develop new ways of doing things which has been rewarding. I also get five weeks of vacation a year which is nice. My schedule has been fairly flexible with the option of working from home on certain days. My co-workers have all been really great throughout the years.

Cons

For my area, I often don't understand the decisions made by management. There seems to be a lot of poor planning within the ranks. Often times an idea may be a good one, but the execution of it is really poor. Too many assumptions are made and things fall through the cracks. I don't believe that management take ownership for their mistakes. There have been a lot of layoffs over the years and they seem to keep coming. How can one really take ownership in a company when they could be just another day or season away from being let go? There is way too much communication over email and/or the expectation that email is checked very often. Plus, there's an expectation to "multitask" when studies have been done showing that people who multitask don't get much done and don't retain information. I don't believe that a good rewards system is in place or the current one that's in place is not too effective. Promotions have been very stagnant for the past several years.

Pros

I highly value the autonomy I am given to manage my own workload, and I thoroughly enjoy collaborating with several of my talented colleagues.

Cons

That independence comes at a cost. The company is incredibly disorganized and siloed. Management will force lateral moves on you without asking; I've ended up balancing four different roles with absolutely no pay increase. Requests for fair compensation compared to the peers I trained were completely ignored. Territories change constantly, but zero training is provided. You are essentially left entirely on your own to figure it out.
