Pros

I never expected to be here 6+ years, but have because at every phase of my journey I've been challenged and developed. I moved into leadership because I saw that my leaders were getting similar development to what I received as an IC. I figured there was no better place & system for me to learn to be a leader. That development is both programmatic (eg. training, upskill programs, formal development) but also cultural & very personal in how leaders develop employees individually. The financial upside opportunity in sales is second to none, both in attainment / commission, and equity opportunity. Many 7 figure earners in sales. With rapid growth comes increasing org size, and promotion / career growth opportunity. Because of the culture of development, Mongo believes it can promote and develop the best leaders from within versus hiring all leaders from outside.

Cons

This is a complex space to sell into, and not for everyone. It takes genuine and deep curiosity to develop a strong enough understanding of our customers, our technology and the business problems it solves, and the tech ecosystem we exist in, to be quickly and continually successful. This is true for sales ICs and leaders.

Pros

Supportive people, a strong culture, and meaningful flexibility are the biggest positives. I've had the chance to work with thoughtful colleagues who care about doing good work and helping each other succeed. There are solid opportunities to learn, build relationships across teams, and contribute in a way that feels impactful.

Cons

Workloads can be heavy during busy periods, and priorities can sometimes shift quickly (which is expected in growing companies)
