Pros

Asheville is where we have chosen to live and since I am a healthcare worker I am constrained to work at Mission . The Mission System serves 17 counties in North-Western North Carolina. One must realize that population is extremely depressed/poor. So one can be proud of this task that Mission has undertaken.

Cons

With Mission being such a large system, I think the upper management forgets about who actually gets the Job done and only focuses on the bottom line. This is the case with most large companies.

Pros

Great nurses, resilient community, many leadership growth opportunities, large hospital with many specialties, the only level 1 trauma center in WNC.

Cons

The hours are very challenging. often 5am to 6pm M-F. No additional compensation for extra hours, nights, or on-call weekends. You must love the work, and have minimal need for work-life balance to enjoy working here.
