Pros
City benefits are great, pay is fair relative to the rest of the profession, retirement pension is great.
Cons
Everything else. Patron interactions are terrible, the work we do is very simple, and does not require a master's degree. Mainly just Google and print services for people who don't know how to use them. Administration is terrible, unresponsive, and upward movement has nothing to do with merit, education, or skills. You'll move up if you've proven you can deal with all the terrible aspects of the job and don't rock the boat too much.
