Pros
Pay is good, but it takes a long time to get to the top tier, plus if you get hired as an operator the union doesn't do much of anything to help the newer crowd get anything
Cons
The biggest problem happens is if you ever get hurt while on the job due to the job. I was involved in an accident that I was found to be not at fault for, and I was forgotten and treated horribly by both the company and and their medical doctor. Once you're hurt they could care less. Plus the union doesn't do a damn for you if you were hired after 1997. If you want to get a job with Metro, as in LACMTA, go to any department EXCEPT BUS OPERATOR -- it's the absolute hardest to transfer out of and to get ahead in.
