Pros
Merit is a great place to work if you are interested in making a difference in the community. Merit has made an incredible impact on our Nation! Michigan is lucking to have Merit as the educational technology leader. The State Government does not directly support technology innovation within the education system. If it wasn't for Merit Michigan would not have a statewide educational network from K-12, to community colleges to higher education. The reason I have stayed at Merit is because I am always learning from one-another, from the community, and from Merit's national connections as well.
Cons
Internal process bogs down the organization. Sometimes it is easier to get your work done outside of the organization than inside the organization. However, with a new ERP system coming and a more open CEO that is not afraid to say "we are moving in this direction and we are going to give it a try!" I personally think things will indeed improve.
