Mostly negative experience with some great colleagues - Project Lead Medpace Employee Review

Pros

Mostly wonderful and kind colleagues, I had a wonderful manager who was exceptionally smart but unfortunately not in the leadership “inner circle”, which severely limited career progression.

Cons

I still have nightmares about working here years later. Workload was criminally unbalanced, I was a PM for five studies and two of them had no replacement PMs identified by my last day even though I provided a month of notice. Headcount is exploited to maximize profit at the expense of employee welfare, and they know that their (hopefully soon to be illegal) non-compete kept people there essentially against their will. I saw notifications of Medpace HR viewing my LinkedIn page for months after I departed, presumably to investigate potential violation of said noncompete, and have since worked for other large CROs and have found far superior experiences, career progression and respect for employees.

Thank you for the review, although we are saddened by your view of Medpace. We are proud of the recent growth but recognize this may temporarily result in an increased volume of work for some associates. Our recruitment team is working hard to add great new employees to the company to ensure all associates have a balanced and manageable workload. We do encourage all employees with workload issues or work flexibility issues to speak directly to their line manager or come to HR if the issues continue. In regard to a non-compete, this is a very common practice in competitive industries, such as ours. Medpace notifies all candidates who interview of our employment contract prior to offering a position. This allows each candidate to evaluate if the non-compete agreement is something they feel comfortable with prior to joining the organization.
