Pros

Free alcohol occasionally. I also made some lasting friendships through trauma bonding from working at this terrible company. You can potentially make great money, but chances are you’d probably get laid off, fired, or burnt out before you got a chance. The training is extensive and through. Also, you get a pretty decent christmas gift!

Cons

Where to even begin? For starters, let’s address the main issue: they are NOT hitting anywhere near target, they’re panicking and it shows. Ever since it got bought out they have been doing layoffs and LYING CONSTANTLY about it. They are putting a lot of pressure on producers (thus absolutely obliterating any positive thing they have going on for culture) even when things are beyond producers control. They’ve pretty much laid out a company PIP. Management is the second biggest issue. It’s a favorites game. This is why both under-performers AND contest winners have been part of the layoffs/firings they’ve been doing. It seems like it’s managements choice and it boils down to who the manager likes. People go from being praised and a top performer one month to being fired without reason the next. When the firings happen, they will then get on a google meets meeting and talk negatively about the employee they just fired to the whole team, which is extremely inappropriate (and i’m pretty sure also illegal). They also don’t take any kind of constructive criticism or legitimate employee concerns into consideration. You just get fired for voicing it. There’s a lot of internal talk among staff as to how uncertain their job feel due this very reason… you never know who’s going to get fired next. Also, god forbid you have any hobbies or jobs outside of Medix. This will be seen as you not being “committed” to them and then they will… yep, you guessed it! Fire you. They also highly “encourage” you working after hours and on weekends. If you don’t, it’s seen as you don’t care or aren’t committed. They praise everyone who does making everyone feel pressure to stay later and later. So, essentially it is expected if you want to keep your job. They value Sales over Recruitment and it’s painfully obvious. They also promote people way too early into sales and then get confused as to why they don’t have any business coming in. On the staffing side of things, they always side with the client so the contractors working for Medix definitely get the short end of the stick even if the client is in the wrong. All in all, let’s be honest: there are so many other recruitment agencies to work for who aren’t struggling, don’t treat their internal and external employees badly, pay better, are fully remote, have better management, and where you’ll be happy and valued.
