Pros
If you enjoy literature for children and/or are a literacy advocate, you will find excellent products produced by the editorial team. Relatively new CEO is making great strides in overhauling the company, albeit is a tall hill to climb.
Cons
This small, privately owned company is unfortunately suffering from years of negative corporate culture due to former old-school leadership where employees were told what to do, how to do it and never given a chance to utilize their own talent, strengths and expertise on behalf of the company. Ideas are shot down instantly. This company utilizes a high pressure sales approach and that same business acumen negatively drives other departments to meet demands in a reactive, rushed, panic mode environment without respectful collaboration and communication. Your knowledge and experience is not valued or trusted. This company has no understanding of project management 101, noting there is too much change going on all at once...creating organizational chaos. Teams are set up to fail using antiquated software tools and manual and outdated processes. When new applications are implemented team members receive no formal training. Middle management gets hit in both directions dealing with executive's demanding constraints and subordinates complaints without viable solutions creating a yo-yo effect. Long hours with high stress levels. Some leaders visibly demonstrate heated and boisterous arguments creating an unhealthy competitive environment. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Overall lacks professionalism and respect throughout the organization, a lot of back-stabbing, undermining and insubordination.
