I cannot even begin to describe the amount of disgust I have for this company and the values they 'claim' to have. It is an absolute disgrace. I would love to say some good about Manpower, but it is very difficult. The amount of BS that is in this environment is outrageous, from upper management right down to reception. Nothing but condescending, rude, arrogant people. The recruiters are demeaning, management has no clue how to run their teams, and the programs, well let’s say I have received more helpful information watching Sesame Street. There is favoritism all over, you just must make sure you keep your recruiter happy or you will never receive work, keep your manager happy or they will find a way to get rid of you. I remember how disgusted I was when I overheard one of the recruiters refer to a client who was going out on assignment as a ‘plug’ really that is the class that these people have? Not to mention the ‘clicks’ that exist in this office……mix this in with the gossip that everyone likes to spread (this including management) it is a toxic environment for anyone to be in. They tell you how great the office culture is, how they are like a big family, how the turnover for office staff is low because of all this. I beg to differ. The office culture is similar to a grade 9 high school with all the clicks and he said she said bs on a daily. They tell you how they like to invest in the current employees they have instead of seeking people from outside, again I call bull. I will tell you how to get hired though, get in good with the CEO, even if you are less than qualified he can get you a position that you will be let go from in 2 months for having no clue what you are doing, long before they look at a qualified internal candidate. I had the opportunity of working in this toxic environment for a very short time, and I tell you the best thing I got out of the short stay I had was my assignment back out for work. Upper management has no idea what is going on, they sit in their offices pretending everything is ok in the office when really it is falling apart. The mid management gossips as much as the gossip between employees, they actually seem to be the start of it a lot of the time. Laughing with the employees about past employees that have been let go, office badgering. Honestly there is a lot of office bullying going on in this business, which is very unfortunate considering that they are there to help people not insult them. Overall if there is one thing I could do in the end would be to warn anyone who is slightly considering working for Manpower either as a direct employee or as a temp, there are so many other choices out there with companies who would treat you more humanely, I mean it would be hard not too, keep your options open as this is NOT a healthy environment for any normal human being. For those of you who choose to stay, may I suggest some time with a qualified psychologist?
