Pros

Average salary with some flexibility for family life, only if you are on the "favorite" list.

Cons

Very segmented with a high-school clic mentality. Overall compensation structure has changed three times in the last three-years where there is no clarity in future direction. Overall office environment is dull at best where favoritism is prevalent.

MSCI Response

MSCI has grown and evolved our business since we became a public company, however our approach to compensation remained rooted in our investment banking legacy. We have redesigned our compensation programs to better connect pay and performance by aligning payouts more closely with our strategic priorities and individual results. We have provided greater clarity in how compensation is measured, evaluated and paid through transparent program design. This change entailed moving away from the traditional “Total Reward” philosophy which was heavily rooted in in our Investment Banking legacy. There are many benefits associated with our new performance-driven compensation program. First, we have greater transparency and a clearer line of sight into how each component of pay is determined. Employees were invited to briefing sessions last fall in addition to providing many resources on line including a video, presentations and FAQ’s. We have aligned individuals pay with performance which provides for greater differentiation and flexibility. And lastly, the new approach increases employee and manager accountability, and more directly links Company, team and individual performance.
