Pros

Not many anymore. Sometimes great sales meetings.

Cons

Runaway train. Caused by over expansion and deep paranoia in the drive to increase share value. Can ride the market for a bit but probably not much underneath. Too much chaos and backstabbing. Often produced by lazy, manipulative managers who don't care or know much, but have been installed as part of crazy circle. Or through some other connection to the leadership. So a lot of problems never really get solved and the lazy managers will easily throw someone under bus. We are not Facebook or google. And it's surprising Labor Board hasn't stepped in. A decade of craziness. And outsourcing to a problematic extreme. All of which explains the high turnover. So projects are slowed. Then office atmosphere can get crazy too, with an insecure and lazy corporate services management. Dividing and alienating people to shine light away from their incompetent selves. Really first rate manipulative stuff over the long-term. Just like software engineering talks. And head office really doesn't care or want to know about its field staff. Meanwhile the surveys can't really be trusted to take. Not when we've seen retaliation. Often towards wrong people. Sales and testing aren't getting easier. A vicious circle of sorts. But it's a well known fact that the head office resents the original office.

Thank you for providing your input. MSCI provides multiple avenues and opportunities for employees to provide feedback to senior management, their managers and colleagues. Also, companies like Glassdoor are an important source of improvement data and we take the opinions of current and past employees very seriously. Our engagement surveys are anonymous and 100% confidential. Feedback that employees provide is treated with great care and respect. We have seen no evidence of retaliation resulting from survey feedback and our above average response rates (over 85%) indicate that employees are comfortable sharing their honest views. MSCI Berkeley is a very important office within our firm. Much of MSCI’s leadership in Research, Data & Content Services, Development and Product resides in Berkeley. MSCI as a firm has continued to invest in Berkeley and entrusts the leadership here with many key inputs that are vital to our firms’ continuing product and company growth. As a matter of record, our attrition in Berkeley is exceptionally low. We believe this is a reflection of the fact our employees are engaged and like working for MSCI. MSCI is dedicated to furthering our OneMSCI culture. Our focus on creating a culture that empowers employees to take control of their careers, direct their development in ways that interest them and play to their strengths is fully supported by our CEO and our Executive Committee.
