Hi,
Thank you for your valuable feedback.
We acknowledge that we have challenges with career development within the company. The media reporting side of the business, which is our main operation at the Reading office, is quite a small team which naturally limits progression. However, there have been several promotions within production recently, and also promotions to different roles within our sales and advisory teams. We actively look to fill any vacancies within the company rather than recruiting outside; and everyone in the production department began work as a junior analyst.
We have made a conscious decision to use the global intranet as our company wide communication channel but it seems that some of our country offices are not used to this idea and don’t read the intranet very often. We have found that the bigger the company grows the more challenging it is to communicate via direct email messages to correct groups and since all employees have access to the intranet, we find that it is the most effective forum for internal communication.
We’re very sorry if you feel that no training is provided. For years now, we have endeavoured to offer training to all of our staff and training being one of the foundations of our strategy, our targets are set and competences are built to reflect this. In the Reading office team leaders hold regular reviews with staff regarding their training and development. If you feel that there is a problem with receiving training, the first step is to take it up with your manager. In fact, we have recently launched a system for HR grievances in our Reading office and based on the experience we have in Reading we may roll it out globally.
What comes to management posing as employees - we have strict rules to management about posting on Glassdoor. They must state that they are part of the management if they wish to post something on public forums about the company. Often, we get feedback from staff that they have seen negative comments about the company and feel bad about it. In these situations, the managers have said that they are welcome to post their positive feedback on the website and a lot of employees have done just that.
If you would like to discuss your concerns in person, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Kind regards,
Krista Tirkkonen
