It’s great to work alongside people who are really passionate about what they do and are genuinely valued. They really make a difference in communities and help people get back on their feet. There’s a fantastic culture at Luminus, with a real family feel. Lots of social events throughout the year too, some of which the kids can come to as well. I’ve been fortunate enough to be supported through a qualification, which I’m really grateful for. It’s nice to work for an employer that cares about your professional and personal development. There is an excellent gym facility on site, and staff can access free fitness classes, plus additional discounted personal training sessions. Flexible working in encouraged, and many staff work flexi-time. It’s definitely a different kind of place to work, and quite rightly has been recognised with many national awards for employee engagement and leadership.

There are lots of challenges within the sector, but despite that, everyone pulls together.

If you ask for training you get none

I became ill and advised to work day shift from nights. I asked for day shift. but although others had been transferred, and were transferred to day shift . I was refused eventually due to worsening illness I could no longer work .
