Pros

Many educational sessions are offered in order to help educate people about Human Trafficking and the organization. If you have any questions, you can ask the staff directly: someone will always provide you with an answer. The organization is trauma-informed and it has held many sessions to help the employees become trauma-informed. The residents' needs supersede everything. The ED is a leader who has been leading the organization with humility, understanding, empathy and great respect for all. When she is in the Safe House, you would not know she is the ED because of how well she blends with everyone. She cleans, sweeps, mops and washes the dishes. If anything is needed, she helps both staff and residents. It has always stood out to me how she speaks with the survivors and staff. She takes time to listen and always provides feedback and support when needed. I think one thing that some people seem to forget is the fact that she is still the ED. A great level of respect must be maintained at all times, regardless of how approachable she is. Overall, the organization had and continues to have a positive impact on the women they serve. It was a great learning experience for me. I felt supported and valued.

Cons

Lack of activities for staff and residents.

Thank you for your comments. We agree our ED is a valuable leader for all at LifeWay. We have quarterly staff meetings and include residents as well. The purpose of the meetings is to provide updates and discuss policies, among other things - including having the time to get to know each other. We are proud of the work we do and want to thank you again for your comments and suggestions.

Pros

In my role at LifeWay I was responsible for creating various opportunities for the employees to learn about trauma management, human trafficking and many great culture building experiences. The ED provided a foundation for collaboration, learning and inclusion. It was one of the biggest experiences in my career to have a leadership that centers the mission of the organization and who was genuinely committed to helping every employee succeed. I had a great work life balance, self care, personal time management and professional development were priority. Great leadership and opportunities for self improvement.

Cons

Too many older white women with no experience in the field who are not understanding of the mission and people housed. Hire people who care to help, advocate and support women survivors of human trafficking.

Pros

I thought I was giving to a good cause

Cons

Human trafficking is the number one crime in our country. I thought I might help. Little did I know my donation was merely used to keep executive staff comfortable in the richest community in the state.
