Pros

Great place for fresh graduates (engineers) who are self starters, to learn, contribute, bring change and grow from a graduate level to a senior engineer / scientist.

Cons

1. Senior Management lacks the perspective of challenges at grass root level and miserably fails to identify a vision and lay strategy for growth, organisation development, skills and talent development. 2. They favour a mediocre performance and fail to challenge employees to perform (and equally reward). They don't know how to promote or react to top performances from a vital few people. Recognition flows only from peers from same or different function usually associated with projects. 3. This is not a performance driven culture but a risk averse culture. 4. Few quality engineers, titled so, are not even graduate engineers. Lack of technical and people managemnet skills, qualifications are quite common to expect. 5. Quality is perceived to be one of the worst areas to work since they are expected to do only documentation work. They are not seen to actively contribute towards improving product quality. Quality management recognises and promotes document jockeys. 6. Serious stagnation at management level. Very less engineers / senior engineers / managers and more of directors. A director will report to a director who will report to a director .... More talk and less work. 7. Senior management is quite secretive of things that you would usually expect to be shared / consulted / discussed with employees. Lacks openess and transparency in governance.

Loved everything about working at LifeScan. I met the best of people during my tenure as an intern in the treasury department. Everyone I met was willing to help me along the way.

Cons

No cons as far as I’m concerned!
