Pros

- Lidl is a big company with a big name. - You can make a decent salary coming out of college. - Lots of diversity.

Cons

To be completely honest, I was really looking forward to writing this review for so long, but I don’t have the energy to write every terrible thing about Lidl… it would take too long. To sum it up, if you have any kind of experience, I would highly recommend NOT working at Lidl. Although there were countless cons, my biggest problem was the department I was in… Marketing. Although this was MY biggest pain point, you will have a hard time finding ANYONE that is happy working in ANY department at Lidl. The Marketing leadership has NO idea what they are doing. The only way to work your way up to the top is by sucking up… no knowledge or experience required! Leadership is extremely threatened by anyone who has any knowledge or experience. If they sense you are smarter than them they will stop telling you vital information and leave you out of important meetings. Leadership has absolutely no management skills and I am fairly positive their LinkedIn backgrounds are a hoax. They have costed the company so much money and caused lawsuits that could have easily been avoided. Pretty sure they wrote the glowing reviews before this one, check them out for some fake news!!! Good luck recruiting or keeping anyone who knows anything about Marketing if you don’t get rid of the leadership! Again, there were SO many cons to Lidl (checkout the other reviews for more details), but the leadership has got to take the cake.

Pros

Benefits are excellent, most people at the peer level are great. Clear performance expectations. Decent cross functional communication

Cons

Company leadership very European and doesn't quite understand the American consumer even after being in the US so long. Unreasonable expectations are the norm. No upward mobility unless you are European or speak fluent German.
