Pros
Liberty Mutual has a general management development program for MBA students called the Corporate Development Program. This program provides best-in-class compensation and benefits. Alumni of the program are successful and respected across the company. Liberty has a pension on top of the usual 401(k), and more than one month of annual leave days per year. To get into the program, candidates go through an extremely thorough evaluation process and interview with the CEO, BU Head, or other senior executive.
Cons
Liberty's Corporate Development Program is not always the top choice of talented MBA students. Usually MBA-types want to go into jobs in consulting, technology, banking and other financial services, CPG, and health care. The property & casualty insurance industry has an enormous demand for MBAs.
