Pros

Legatum is an organisation that truly prioritises its people. In addition to exceptional health benefits, a stunning office in the DIFC, forward-thinking initiatives associated with annual leave and remote working, not to mention the beautiful café, I've personally felt nurtured, supported, and encouraged by both colleagues and management. The principle of fostering freedom to flourish has not only facilitated my personal and professional growth but has also resulted in increased responsibilities and promotions showing that those who are dedicated, seize opportunities, and meet high expectations are recognised and rewarded. Beyond these benefits, my primary motivation stems from our shared commitment to our mission to help others prosper, and there is a genuine sense of unity as we celebrate successes together. I'm deeply grateful for the collaborative spirit within our team, where everyone's contributions are valued and respected. Working at Legatum is incredibly fulfilling, and personal highlights for me include the family-oriented culture, the diverse range of projects I've had the opportunity to be involved in, and the connection to our philanthropic work, which has afforded me the privilege of witnessing our efforts in the field with my own eyes. Legatum is like no other place I have worked before; a place where you feel you are making an impact and contributing to a better world.

Cons

It is worth noting that the interview process is quite rigorous, has several stages, and can sometimes take a bit of time. However, it will be worth it!

Pros

I’ve been at Legatum for almost 3 years and really enjoy working for the company. Initially, I had a couple of opportunities available to me when I came to Dubai, but Legatum stood out for me as a company that didn’t just write a cheque each year for some charitable organisation, but instead had meaningful day-to-day involvement in their philanthropic work as well as running the investment business. I felt this was a unique company and one that I was unlikely to come across again, so I accepted the role. I have not once regretted my decision. The company is small so you know everyone, people are very generous with their time and knowledge, and there is a real camaraderie, not just within teams, but across the organisation as a whole. Teams work hard, not just because they have to, but because of their own professional standards and ambitions to learn and grow. There is a real commitment to excellence and best practice in all departments. I have been afforded opportunities to learn and develop in my time at Legatum. To help staff feel closer to the mission, there are employee engagement field trips to strengthen the connection with the company’s philanthropic work. I’m proud to have contributed towards the company’s achievements and look forward to seeing what is to come in the future.

Cons

The company can feel a little inflexible at times with fixed working hours and a formal dress code. However, senior management have taken recent feedback on this point on board and a revised set of guidelines are expected to be rolled-out later this year which will introduce much more freedom.
