Pros

Great place to work overall. The benefits are extraordinary, and the pay is decent, and only getting better. Great way to network and a great way to see the world at its best and at its worst. Depending on the division you go, you will either flourish or sink.

Cons

Some of the training officers at West Valley Division think they are Gods. They will do whatever they can to try and get you out of the department as a probationer if you rub them the wrong way. And then they will make it seem as if you are the one with the problem...it's standard politics that definitely needs to be monitored more closely.

Pros

I was able to work whenever I want. The tasks assigned to me were easy (filing, paper shredding, etc.) and allowed me to observe how police stations function internally.

Cons

Commuting to the station was difficult at times. The station's location forces you to take highways crowded with semi-trucks coming from/going to San Pedro's docks.
