Pros

John Kotter is a renowned and well respected person. There were a few solid people who were knowledgeable and nice to work with.

Cons

There is no way to fully sum up all of the negatives. I would say if you absolutely needed work, Kotter is a good way to get a recognizable name on your work history. It will help get your foot in the door at other companies when you are ready to change careers. If that is your end goal and you focus on that, it may be tolerable. It’s a nepotistic family firm where anyone who is not in the inner circle is simply doing a well paid internship. It’s a good stepping stone if you are trying to learn or practice basic MS office suite skills and need some brand recognition on your resume. They pay decently enough and have great benefits. The culture is cutthroat and extremely unprofessional, which for many people seemed not to be worth it when coupled with the low quality of leadership and work that only consists of menial tasks for director level and above. The company is a motley crew of people with uncomplimentary skills and opposing views. Titles are handed out for loyalty instead of competence. Also, they are pretty cheap on providing you the tools needed to do the work and would often use free open ware to present work. Why not buy licenses so that work can get done? Stop going through the backflips of trying to work with free software. On that topic- they snoop through your computer, but they leave behind evidence that they were snooping without realizing it. Several times I’ve received notifications of the admin accessing my files, calendar appts, or that they moved an email, and they didn’t realize we knew.

Pros

Stimulating work environment - "start-up energy"; extremely talented colleagues, excellent comp & benefits, well-positioned for significant near-term growth

Cons

Lack of established processes/structure can be challenging for early career employees; Clients serviced are industry agnostic, which creates an intriguing myriad of problems to solve and also a gap in the functional/industry expertise that some clients expect
