Pros

Hey firms need to get a better understanding of what they are doing with those training budgets. These guys are helping companies gauge the effectiveness of those programs. You can get good experience around Analytics and build a good book of contacts within the learning world.

Cons

This solution isnt the easiest answer. Its cumbersome and a beast. The UX is eh - requires consulting and a ton of work. Now most LMS and training progams are coming with Analytics built in - and more native. Your own LMS provider can hook you up with solid analytics and its EASY. While the business is sound the culture is not. Culture Intense Micromanagement. Only say yes. Never say No. Never disagree. You best be a drinker. Its a strange environment where the staff is senior but aspires to be junior. Really junior. Company events are all about alcohol and the senior execs lead the way. More political than D.C. The better jobs here are not in the sales group. The pay is OK.

Pros

They've recruited consultants who know this niche industry, and those people have brought along their contact list. Good networking at annual symposium for those looking to make a name for themselves (both for employees and clients). About 5 people who are really passionate, work hard, and keep the company operating.

Cons

Very political - it's a large group of 'mean girls' who are trying to intimidate you. They ostracize people who bring experince from outside the company and don't pay their dues. As a result there's never any fresh blood that sticks around. Leadership is stale and shut down to new ideas. The technology is horribly cumbersome with an awful support model. LMS vendors provide better technology and are driving KA out of business. KA tried to expand their offerings to get a bigger piece of the pie and ended up compromising what client base they had. The other comments on drinking are right on. The CEO will act like a good guy, but he doesn't really know your name and makes it clear that you are not his equal. The only respectful person with Senior Management is the COO - he is genuine and always shows respect, no matter what role or team you are on.
