Where to begin? I worked at JAMS as a case manager for many years, and my experience was overwhelmingly negative. Enough of the neutrals displayed misogynistic, sexist, and biased behavior to create a hostile work environment. One particular neutral was especially egregious, frequently yelling at me and nearly calling me a racial slur.
Despite reporting this behavior, I found that my opportunities for growth were severely limited after I spoke up. It became clear that the company prioritizes protecting its neutrals over addressing legitimate concerns from its staff. Additionally, the salary is not competitive. I experienced pay compression throughout my tenure, which further added to my dissatisfaction.
It's also worth noting that JAMS has been getting their neutrals, who are contractors and not employees, to leave 5-star reviews on Glassdoor. This practice is misleading and does not accurately reflect the experiences of full-time staff.
I would not recommend JAMS to anyone seeking a supportive and professional work environment. There needs to be a significant cultural shift and better mechanisms for addressing employee grievances before this becomes a workplace where everyone can thrive.
CONS:
- Hostile work environment
- Lack of support for case managers
- Limited growth opportunities
- Poor handling of employee grievances
- Non-competitive salary with pay compression
- Misleading reviews from neutrals (contractors)
