- Lack of trust and loyalty towards their employees: You will have to submit your 10th, or 12th, or graduation certificate with them. Moreover, they will also keep 8k as security which will be deducted from two months salary and create a scene when you take an emergency leave. - Bait and switch job: During the interview, HR would explain your JD, which essentially includes calling high executives of an organization and asking them "questions" and researching about the companies. It's a euphemism for making 300+ cold calls a day and googling companies. Furthermore, you will also "help" in signing up for webinars and seminars which is worse since you will have to hold the hands of your prospects and walk them through the whole process. - Substandard IT infrastructure: They are still using 10+ years old laptops and with Windows XP installed. A huge irony for an IT-based research firm. At least use FOSS based if it couldn't support higher versions of Windows. - Overtime: Have you achieved your targets? No!? Do overtime. Although this depends upon the manager to manager. - Arrogant Team Leaders: They act like they are doing you a favor when you achieve their target. Work is done here by with punishment rather than reward. - Blatantly violating labor laws: Doing things that aren't mentioned in your job contract. For instance, extending your notice period until you achieve your targets. - According to my seniors (3+ years), this is a recent phenomenon since they still haven't updated it in their documents. I would presume, either they couldn't lawfully or are too ignorant to do it. Had I known they were doing this, I would have joined a BPO. At least, I would have gotten a good salary, cab facility, good incentives, and other perks. I mean like I would have been doing the same thing thereby making 300+ calls there. - Incentives are not given or are usually delayed: Targets are usually set high so you couldn't achieve them. Thus, no incentives. Even if you could, they are delayed often or not given at all. - No cab or food facility. - Usual office politics and backstabbing. - Only primary research. - You wouldn't get any advantage over a candidate who is less educationally qualified than you if you have masters or bachelors. Let's say Higher Secondary School graduate. You both will get paid the same salary. This essentially means, your degree brings no value to your job. - High employee turnover rate: Well... They organize interview in their main office almost every day.
