Pros

Lots of talk about their "great" company culture, which does not translate to how they actually reat their employees.

Cons

Last week I was fired by Instructure with no further justification than "I was not a right fit for the role". I had been in this new role for over 6 months while hitting all of my targets, quotas, and KPIs. I had been given no negative feedback or any suggestions about how I could be doing my job better. 2 weeks before I was fired I even received praise from my 2nd line manager about my performance and progress within the role. And my co-workers claimed that they enjoyed working with me. On Tuesday one week I was told that I was on a probationary period, with no explanation of why. I pushed back to receive further reasoning and none was provided. Then within that same week I was fired on Friday, effective immediately. No transition period, no compensation plan for the firing, just terminated with one month's pay... I'm currently completing my MBA with my main Thesis project focused on a case study within Instructure. 5-minutes after the call where I was fired, my entire computer was shut down and I was not allowed access to the data I had collected for my thesis project. For a company that claims to care about education, this was a very low blow. Overall, I was given no warnings or chances to make changes before being fired. It was handled in a very unprofessional and disrespectful way, especially considering I would consistently work for 10-12hrs per day for this company and I had very high performance and results. I'm very disappointed with how this was handled and I write this story as a warning for others looking to work at this company. They might seem all nice and respectful but they are owned by a multi-billion dollar VC firm that has no regard for the personnel and company culture.
