Pros

High Impact Work: cool opportunity to work on a large-scale reaching millions of users was a valuable learning experience. This is the place for you if you enjoy fast-paced environments. Gained experience collaborating with high-profile ppl Chance to work with cutting-edge tools and internally developed systems allowed me to expand my technical skills

Cons

- The relentless influx of urgent requests led to a continuous cycle of task reprioritization resulting high stress and burnout - "Unlimited" PTO Policy: The company’s unlimited PTO policy sounds great on paper, but in reality, it’s poorly managed - leading to unfair distribution of work - It was common for others to take credit during collaborative projects. This lack of recognition was demoralizing and contributed to a toxic work environment where individual contributions were often overlooked - Highly political culture where success often seemed tied to playing office politics rather than merit

Pros

Fun going out and talking to people. You will interact with people everyday. You control how much you get paid. Lots of flexibility in the time between accepting an order and traveling to the store and beginning to shop. It isn't pedal to the metal to get to the store like DoorDash is. You can also cancel batches after accepting as long as you keep your rate under 15%. This is different from DoorDash where your rankings will suffer if g.t. 2% cancellation rate.

Cons

There's a learning curve and it takes a while to learn each chain of stores' items. Once you become proficient at one store, the algorithm will lowball your offers relative to other less-experienced Instacart shoppers. Overall, Instacart shoppers likely get paid similar or less than the store's regular employees.
