Inova you have to do better! It is so frustrating having to work in healthcare right now and this health system does not make it easier. This job is a call center position so pretty much you’re a frontline worker. This position handles billing, making sure things are moving from a revenue level. Is that not major? Why are patients allowed to call in and call us stupid, incompetent, b***h, curse at us endlessly, yell at us when we’re just doing our jobs? But more so why does management not care when it comes to their attention. Why is the answer we have to ignore it, don’t take it personal, because they are patients. I know we all have watched the empathy video, but what is forgotten is the empathy for the employees in that same video! It’s not fair, it’s not fair for anyone to be verbally & emotionally abused daily on top of everything they are dealing with outside of Inova. The call center is nonstop and so is the abuse. It is a shame that I felt so proud working for Inova to now feeling like I could never recommend it to anyone. Not to mention the pay is ridiculously low! At least have the pay match the work but that would be too generous for such a wealthy health system, you have to remain #1 somehow.

Pros

Good benefits, professional colleagues, and strong technical talent. In the IT, analytics, and data space, Inova has been more forward-looking than many health systems, with willingness to adopt modern tools and practices. There is also relatively less bureaucracy compared with some other healthcare organizations.

Cons

For AI and Data Solutions career growth and scope can feel heavily influenced by prior relationships and leadership networks. When new leaders join, they often bring trusted colleagues from previous organizations, and those individuals may receive faster access to strategic work, visibility, and advancement opportunities. This can create the perception that internal merit, institutional knowledge, and long-term contribution are not always enough to access the best opportunities unless an employee is already connected to a senior leader or part of an incoming leadership network. Over time, this can make the culture feel fragmented across different legacy groups rather than like one unified Inova culture. There is a high level of nepotism and if you are not coming from Sharp, Parkland or Novant your growth, scope and visibility will be limited and you might be sidelined to grunt work.
