Communicated to employees that the state of the Hospital was strong in January only to layoff over 1000 workers in October the same year. Lacked foresight to see the changes in reimbursement being heralded in Congress and the media. Embarked on a buying and building spree one year, only to consider shutting down one of its flagship campuses - "Indiana University" Hospital in 2 years.
