Pros

I like working on my unit with my coworkers I don’t have to live in a ditch

Cons

No Rn or PCA staff EVER. Dangerous and no one seems to care whether we have enough workers to care for some really sick patients. Only worries about the budget and not staff retention Many managers are Poor insurance benefits Many many rude staff members even I have witnessed nasty comments to patients who have done nothing wrong from different workers and nothing is done about it Our CNO is a joke. Doesn’t care about anyone but herself They changed the raise scale (this could be IU wide) and it’s terrible. Better to change jobs every few years We also find bed bugs ALL THE TIME. not even only from patients they are in our chairs and beds. No one will do anything about this and you have to catch a bug to show to the supervisor in order to call bug control, but since bedbugs hide in the light this is impossible. Anything to save a buck All the do is cut staffing and make us work shorter and shorter. I’ve never seen my unit manager come in a help but they also yell at us for overtime even if it compromises patient safety.

Pros

very flexible schedule, leadership is good at communicating and showing appreciation. They also don't allow others to treat coworkers poorly. Insurance is affordable with decent coverage, more PTO than many companies.

Cons

pay is low, increases are very small
