Pros

+ CULTURE: we have a bunch of values written on the walls etc., but none of that means anything if people don't adhere to them. At Imgur, the values actually do define how we behave and treat one another. At its core is respect and compassion. + IMPACT: We reach tens of million of people every day. Its pretty cool for such a small team to have an impact on so many people. + LEARNING: Every single day I'm learning from people who are smarter than I am. There's an incredibly talented group of people here, who challenge and push one another to perform at their best.

Cons

- Some times people leave the fridge open overnight and all the food needs be thrown out in the AM.

Pros

Few, towards the end. Pay was alright but that's about all.

Cons

Way too much drama came down from some vocal staff members. Moderation SOP changed constantly and was a moving target. Site rules were so vague that we would get coached for removing content in one situation because a user whined and coached again when we dismissed a flag with the same content. We're told by Spock one thing, then another by others who moved out of the moderation team to other areas. The staff are all former popular users and longtime friends, which makes untangling who to listen to impossible without stepping on toes. No consistency in leadership. Bring it up to staff and they walk away from the conversation. Never been ghosted by a boss before and that was my cue to cut ties. They're unwilling to take criticism when it's valid. It started after the medialab buyout and was only getting worse when I left. The staff don't care anymore.
