Pros

IST maintains a strong, values-driven culture supported by the tools, systems, and resources employees need to perform at a high level. The organization places a clear emphasis on recognition, with multiple programs in place to acknowledge and reward strong performance. Operationally, IST has invested in systems and technology that enable standardization across locations while reinforcing accountability and performance expectations. My experience over many years with IST has been consistently positive. The leadership team, led by Hal, empowers regional leaders with a high degree of autonomy, allowing us to operate our regions as entrepreneurial units within the broader organization. This approach enables agility, informed decision-making, and the ability to consistently meet and exceed client expectations.

This is the only company I have ever worked at where I felt seen and supported, not just with words but actions.

The only con is the healthcare is expensive

Pros

Excellent facility to work at, beautiful suburban campus. This just happened to be the case; IST had no control over that feature.

Cons

I was warmly welcomed aboard though I had little direct experience. The company and I both considered myself overeducated and overqualified. for the job, but I was winding down a long career and looking for something uncomplicated. I was promised direct supervisor training weekly, but received almost none. Company leadership seemed distracted, and feedback eventually included veiled threats of dismissal without clear explanation. No proactive leadership per se. The customer was very cold from day 1 and obviously did not want me on the job. Very little company support for me or my team, only disciplinary measures.
