Pros
Huron consulting was my first job out of college. The people I personally worked with were smart and outgoing, the culture at the company was pretty social/open-door overall. If you were not on a project, you were basically free to come and go as you please, with no one keeping track of when you arrive/leave and how long you go on lunch. Benefits were very good as well: lots of time off, dental, medical, etc. They also paid for any almost any certification you wanted to get as long as it was somewhat related to the work you were doing. You are encouraged to get your CPA / CFA / CFE.
Cons
The main reason I left Huron was that there was no enough work coming in and it was very difficult to get staffed on projects. it was pretty common to see 50% of my co-workers (who were the same level as me) on the bench week-after-week. Obviously, this doesn't lead to a very strong place to grow your career. When the company began layoffs, senior management gave very little notice that this was happening, and the selection of the people laid off seemed very arbitrary. If you are interested in health-care consulting you might want to consider working here, if not, stay away.
