Pros

I have been at Humble for a couple of years and I decided to look at the reviews and it became clear that a lot of the negative reviews are based on a very difficult time in the company that we are now through, so I had to give my take. Long story short, this last year for Humble was not easy. There a reorg that impacted a number of people and it was tough. I can happily say that we have made it through this difficult time and are much stronger for it. Work flow is way better, communication is tight, bottom line there is zero drama! Kudos to management for making some tough decisions, we are better for it. Also plus of work from anywhere, very inclusive culture. Overall amazing company that truly live their values.

Cons

Last year was tough. Even though it was the right thing to do it was a challenging year.

Pros

I absolutely respect and admire our leadership team. They really do care about the employees and the company. Humble is a rare company that actually lives and breath it's values and mission! Humble leadership team uses the company values and mission to make decisions to the best of their ability. I have witnessed the leadership team be very thoughtful and considerate about how things are managed/handled. We are really lucky to have a mature, non-egotistical and unselfish leadership team who are not out for more power and themselves. They genuinely care about their people and do best by them. Humble just recently overhauled our Anniversary program and updated our perks based on employee feedback. I I have never witnessed a company put so much thought and time into ensuring our benefits reflected what employees want, while incorporating our company values. Ex: Employees get to pick from a handful of gift options, along with each gift being associated with a Force for Good (BIPOC Founded, Social Impact Driven, Sustainable, Female Founded, LGBQT+ Founded, Small Business, etc.). The people at Humble are amazing too! Everyone is busy but we are all working towards similar goals and willing to help each other. I truly enjoy going to work (Remotely) everyday.

Cons

There are always pros and cons to having a parent company (Ziff Davis) when you are the size of Humble Bundle. Perk - You typically get better benefits overall because they can get better deals across their portfolio than Humble could by itself. However, the Con is that the parent company controls your budget for funding headcount, raises, projects etc. I think it is especially difficult because Humble is unique regarding the type of business we are within their portfolio. There is no other company like us. There have been a lot of changes since I started at the company (Good and tough changes) but the leadership has tried their best to manage it as best as they can. Sometimes leaders have to make tough discussions for the health of the company. The layoffs that we have endured have been hard on both those immediately impacted and those who remained but when you have worked for a handful of companies - it's the way of life (however that doesn't lessen the impact). At least I can honestly say the Humble Leadership tried to handle it with thoughtfulness and kind and that should say a lot with regarding to how other companies have been handled these types of decisions.

Pros

- Fully Remote Work - Working with charities and seeing the effects of the work through revenue reports - Nice perks in quarterly gifts, zoom events, and discounts on games/media

Cons

- Steep learning curve that is used against you despite being warned about it considerably through hiring process. If you aren't pushing yourself to meet inconsistent practices, you're judged unfavorably and are places in a probationary area of the company. - Rude management that treats those who don't follow random, small changes terribly (ie - having face cam on zoom turned on for all meetings) - No consistency in terms of reporting issues with senior staff/management - Mixed messaging about responsibilities - Excluded from department changes if not favored by senior staff. - Concerns were often given 'care' in the moment but tossed to the side after a certain period of time - Strong-armed into participation of arbitrary rules with the threat of probationary action if not followed - Random meetings with HR staff under senior management without any forewarning, which could be followed by on-spot terminations
