Pros

Big and stable company Nice bonus

Cons

There's a specific team into Humana's IT group that's absolutely chaotic. Absurd decisions, gigantic waste of budget, constant churn, huge levels of stress and a remarkable misusage of resources. Most of the chaos, lack of directions and churn on this team had one root cause. The VP. This person would DAILY yell and be absurdly rude. This person would call you on your personal phone ordering you to do something and then publicly yelling at you in a meeting for doing what was asked on the phone. I've seen at least 5 very talented people leaving Humana EXCLUSIVELY due to this person. This person was in Humana for more than 10 years getting a promotion after another, becoming not only the worst VP but the worst "lead" most of our team has ever had. I've been working as a lead for a long time in several respected companies and I felt ashamed to report for such a terrible, untalented and unhinged person.

Pros

Working from home, that’s about it.

Cons

Micromanaging, forced to help team members while you’re behind on your own caseload. Denied PTO requests, no PTO all summer and no PTO until the end of January 2027 (that’s supposed supposedly when they will be done ramping up with all their new employees.) a bunch of meetings weekly that are pointless. A weekly case conference where they are forcing nurses to present a complex case in front of over 300 people on zoom. Process changes change constantly, there are no job aid or guideline that help you make a Clinical decision but you will get out of it if you do it incorrectly. Save yourself the trouble and apply somewhere else. It is not worth it.
