Pros

Co workers are awesome.. great friendly team of high functioning young group of dedicated folks

Cons

I seriously doubt Alex will ever share profits or sell the company.. Stock grants are a scam. Comp model was get paid a low wage and get whole when the company goes public or gets sold. Alex has many companies and I'm not aware of any equity event that benefited the employees or made up for the salary gap.

It’s great to hear that you enjoyed working with a dedicated and high-functioning team during your tenure at Hiya. Regarding Hiya total rewards, which includes cash compensation, equity (which every employee receives), and benefits - we take benchmarking very seriously. Hiya participates in salary surveys and acquires market data in every region we have employees to ensure we offer competitive compensation. We continue to outperform other portfolio companies in our class. Regarding your comment on equity, another company founded by Alex, Ekata, had a liquidity event and was acquired by Mastercard in 2021. Employees saw significant returns on their vested shares. At Hiya, we are backed by VC investors, and their incentives are well aligned with stock option holders. Our board of directors is determined to ensure a successful outcome for all key stakeholders, and that certainly includes employee options holders. Thank you for your feedback, -Hiya Leadership Team

Pros

Informal atmosphere, *mostly* skilled and effective people. though there are clear weaknesses. Currently on a good path, but previous mis-steps have led to big problems. Career opportunities are mixed--will you be involved in a pet product or something else?

Cons

Poor decision making at times. There's talk of pushing decisions down to individuals, but really one opinion matters.
