Pros

Can bring pets to work. Relaxed, low key environment. Accepting of all cultures and lifestyles. Nice amount of paid holidays. Annual raises were nice (starting salary not great though).

Cons

Chaos is the everyday norm here. Continuous drama and high school like “clicks.” Dirty office environment with no heat or air conditioning. Carpeted floors are disgusting, never have been cleaned so if pets are brought to work their paws will become extremely dirty from the filth. Constant backstabbing and lying. When good employees leave they are talked about badly and blamed for others mistakes. Quality of product is highly sacrificed for revenue even if it has caused dogs to be sick or even die. New products are tested out on employees dogs (I wouldn’t let mine have anything due to safety concerns). If you don’t drink and party after work with the rest of the team (which includes manager, HR and owners) then you’re not a team player. Employees resistant to change. Owners keep employees on because they are “family” or “friends” even if they’re hurting the business and causing drama. Known harmful products kept on store shelves. No testing of new products which caused huge issues and tons more work and even resulted in sick dogs; needing surgery. Employees will steal your food even if marked and don’t wash hands when using the facilities.

Pros

It’s given me a better understanding of what I’m looking for in a long-term role

Cons

This has been one of the most disorganized and difficult workplaces I’ve experienced. Communication from management is inconsistent, and important information is often not shared directly with employees, leading people to rely on coworkers for updates and creating constant confusion on the floor. Instead of promoting teamwork, the leadership style often creates division within the workplace. Expectations are not applied consistently, and concerns raised by employees are not always handled in a constructive way. Because of this, feedback does not feel welcomed, and communication can become strained after speaking up. There are also concerns about how GMP and safety standards are enforced. Expectations are not applied evenly across all roles, and accountability appears inconsistent. This creates frustration, especially when some employees are held to strict standards while others are not. In addition, there appears to be favoritism in how employees are treated, which affects morale and contributes to a stressful environment. A typical day feels reactive rather than structured, with frequent changes and limited clear direction. Overall, the workplace feels highly stressful due to poor communication, lack of organization, inconsistent leadership, and a culture that does not promote fairness, accountability, or teamwork. The focus is heavily on meeting production numbers, sometimes at the expense of maintaining consistent quality standards. Quality does not appear to be the main priority. The emphasis is heavily placed on meeting production numbers, sometimes at the expense of consistency and attention to detail.
