Pros
Work life balance is good, Excellent benefits and wonderful vacation schedules, Great employee rental rates. Other than that couldn't say anymore positives.
Cons
The worst customer service job I ever had. People mistreat the staff and talk down to you and verbally abuse you then complain to corporate and corporate will bend over backwards to do everything possible to keep the jerks coming back Which if you had fleet this would avoid alot of the issues . Always out of the cars you need and generally never anything for upgrades to make money because of the lame gold member program that allows a free car class upgrade so at the key west location people always reserve the cheapest car knowing they will get that free upgrade and generally most know there are never enough economy cars available so chances are they will end up with a midsize to fullsize free of charge. Poor Dollar and Thrifty agents use to make excellent commissions and always had cars until Hertz bought out that brand. Commission structure is HORRIBLE and nobody's job should be based on the amount of insurance a person will buy because usually their regular insurance will transfer over to rentals. Wake up Area and Sales managers...people don't come to Key West to drive flashy cars like they do on the mainland especially when they are spending 400 plus a night on hotel accommodations. Then these lame mindshare surveys....jesus christ... really???? people will always have something to complain about and the ones that do have a wonderful experience generally never speak up and do the surveys. Probably outsourced jobs to India anyways. Also last but not least always watch yourself around the holidays as that is usually the time Hertz decides to go through cost saving measures and start cutting jobs...ended up losing two great assistant mangers at that time...one on the Hertz side and one on the Dollar side....poor guys. Corporations suck.
