Pros
You learn sales skills that are based on a positive model. The job has a lot of variety, you're not just stuck doing the same one task all day everyday. It's a very fast paced environment where it's always different. You learn product sales, sales calls to promote the business, processing back office reports, handling billing, etc. You get to meet and work with a lot of different people.
Cons
The fact that Hertz promotes only based on sales numbers creates some problems with management. Managers often aren't the most knowledgeable or competent. Managers know one thing well, sales. This led to my location manager being extremely lazy and incompetent. Having to clean cars in dress clothes and ties ruins your nice clothes.
