Pros

- Management is "fun" yet highly driven/competent, and truly cares about their employees as people - Tight knit, competent & empathetic co-workers - Company vision & aspirations are true to company name - Medical/dental/vision benefits - Variety of work (a lot of exposure to varying tech stacks & clients) - Steady company growth despite pandemic - As an employee you have much say in direction of company and its internal policies - Profit sharing and other financial incentives during periods of profitability - Full remote (can be pro/con) - Separate PTO and sick days - Great work/life balance - Compensation is competitive considering size and scope of company - Great support system for designers & devs

Cons

- No physical office currently - Have to be ready to work with difficult customers and/or legacy tech - Slow hiring process - While there is a strong support system, "hand holding" is mostly discouraged so this can be difficult for junior devs - Internal playbook for company policies & best practices are WIP - Lack of diversity (though not for lack of trying)

Pros

I was with this Helpful Human for nearly 5 years. After a successful internship with HH, I was hired as a full-time engineer right out of college. Right off the bat, I felt like a valued team member. Mark (CEO) and Nick (Lead Engineer) took the time to invest in me, my talents, and my passions. I got the support I needed as I was just starting out in my career. Over time, I was placed on very interesting projects which broadened my perspective on software engineering and consulting as a whole. Towards the end of my time at HH, we were beginning to create our own offering on the Shopify App Store, the Experiences App. This taught me so much about how to craft software to create excellent experiences for our customers. I can’t thank the team at Helpful Human enough for all of the experiences, memories, and camaraderie that we shared. Truly an exceptional bunch of humans!

Cons

Due to the size of the company, we struggled to dedicate full-time resources to the products were were building. We were often consumed by our client engagements so it prevented us from being able to make strides towards completion of our product offerings.
