The friends you make here are good as long as you are employed by the cult company. Once the company drops you, so do all your "friends." Health insurance is above par.

Wow. Just WOW about this place. Spent a year at Lucky Friday and wish I could get every minute of it back. What a disgusting place to work and I feel utterly dehumanized by this "cultish" environment. Literally no one new stays here, and for good reason. Everyone else is locked in their positions for life, co-workers have been doing the same job without promotion for over a decade. Middle management has absolutely zero accountability for how they treat their employees and it is ALWAYS awful, especially if you show any ambition. Random new rules for vacation time, only one week at a time (7 days) if you're an engineer, might have changed as middle management gets to makeup whatever they want on the spot (canceled vacations, undermining knowledge, stealing work, stabbing in the back, belittling talk, etc.). You will be asked to do more than your contract and work on weekends, come in early, general abuse of your free time as everyone here lives for this sick place. It's these people's whole life. I left as fast as I could and am so glad for it. Do yourself a favor and avoid this *&* show at all costs. They are racist as heck too, total white boys club with a few psycho greedy boomers at the helm.
