Pros

I was quite surprised when a recruiter contacted me about an opportunity at Groupon, as I hadn’t thought much about the company since its peak in 2010. However, my experience so far has been very positive. The company has a strong focus on delivering value to customers and is making significant strides in modernizing its technology. Replacing legacy systems with cloud-based solutions is a forward-thinking approach that aligns well with current industry standards. One aspect I particularly appreciate is the use of Asana to track all projects. This creates a high level of transparency, allowing everyone to stay aligned and work more efficiently. The leadership team is approachable and highly focused on achieving impact and results, which fosters a productive and supportive work environment. Overall, it has been a very rewarding experience so far.

Cons

Distributed team - eng team in India, product in Prague, Ops&Sales in the US - organizing the calls can be challenging sometimes

Learned a great deal here. My first big guy job and the responsibilities kept me focused and motivated. I grew a lot as a person at Groupon as well

Gaining experience targeting multiple industries

Cons

Management doesn’t care about you. Unrealistic goals. Everyone at 30-40% of quota. Complicated quota attainment system. Your job is to ask for 70% of margins for small businesses that have only 10-15% margin budgets
