I spent the past year at Grey Alchemy as a Digital Marketing Intern and it’s safe to say that it has been my most fulfilling work experience to date. The company perks (weekly massages, free ice cream, an amazing yacht trip) are just one of the many reasons why. From day one, I felt welcomed by the warm and friendly work environment and I am extremely grateful to have been part of such a collaborative and supportive community. Despite being just an intern, I was given responsibilities and learning opportunities of a full time Digital Marketing Executive. I felt that my opinions and thoughts were valued just as much as anyone else in the team, and was constantly encouraged to venture outside of my comfort zone by my colleagues and supervisors. The diversity and quality of grey’s expanding client portfolio also meant that I was able to be a part of several different client projects during the course of my 1 year placement. My responsibilities as a digital marketing executive included being involved in client pitches, strategic planning, and community management, as well as everything that comes with managing a client account; content planning, social media advertising, monthly sales performance reporting. Coming into this with barely any prior experiences, the one role allowed me to gain a myriad of knowledge and skills to become more accustomed to the world of digital marketing. Over the last year, I have grown both personally and professionally. I’m looking forward to apply the knowledge I gained from my experience at Grey to my final year of University.
