Pros

high traffic clientele and good tips

Cons

Senior management always pushing faster without concern for quality. Raises are far between and there isn't incentive to work faster or harder due to lack of productivity incentives. The only increase income comes from tips that are counted as part of your "effective wage" that accounts for half if not more of your income. Very little work/life balance as it is always short staffed or filled with inadequately skilled workers causing fast burnout/turnover of tenured stylists.

Pros

Flexible schedules, 401k, health, & dental benefits, bonuses (based on salon performance, base wage with poetional to hit commission on service & product sales, fun friendly & welcoming environment for employees/customers, continuing education for growth in the industry, professional career growth with Great Clips (depending upon your franchise)

Cons

Haircutting exclusive so if you enjoy other services in the industry (chemicals, waxing, updo styling) this is not the place Franchised salons, so salons are ran differently.
