My "part time" position--which was originally promised as 25 hours max, quickly turned into a 50 hour work week. I tried the "great clips" way of cutting hair, but found it to be sloppy and inconsistent. Your max time is 15min per appointment, leaving you virtually no time to check your work, or style hair. Lunch breaks are only 1/2 hour. Competition between stylists is so fierce, they will try to leave you with longer hair cut times, and try to take over sales of your appointments. You are constantly having to move your tools and equipment from station to station. Your schedule is all over the place, including working back to back shifts. Most clients that come through the doors are dirty, have lice, and have no reguard for personal hygene. I always felt I never had time to sanitize my tools between clients, as it would count against my haircut #'s for the day. Great Clips is also open on most holidays. I could never find anyone to cover my shift if needed--mostly because when they or I did have a day off, it would be the first in 8 or 9 days.
