Pros
The pay was competitive and it’s good experience for someone who wants exposure to both public and private audits.
Cons
Work-life balance is not very good. Busy season really never ends. Additionally, performance expectations aren’t consistent and depend on your relationship with your evaluator instead of an established competency model. You can expect superiors to gaslight you into thinking you’re doing well only for the rug to be pulled during formal evaluations. It felt like they expected you to be a mind reader instead of following a specific performance framework. The entire process felt hypocritical. They expected you to ask questions, but if you ask questions they were used against you later.
