I have been working at Grant Thornton full-time

    Pros

The work culture is absolutely phenomenal; I have friends around the country at Big 4 firms and I have to say that the people here are just exceptional. Everyone genuinely cares about your growth, there's a culture of support, of care, and development. The upper management is also phenomenal, from local office Partners to the Canadian CEO-especially during tougher times, the approach isn't a cut throat one, but instead a "we before me" and that's incredible.

    Cons

The compensation, while in-line with competition, is quite low compared to industry and given how much you work.

I have been working at Grant Thornton full-time

    Pros

Well articulated commitment to clients and colleagues. Unfortunately, total hypocrisy

    Cons

Management and leadership speak to commitment to clients and colleagues. However, actions reflect complete opposite. If you seek honesty and integrity from leadership, look elsewhere. Reflected in exceptionally high turnover of professional staff.

"Good culture, partners are very respectful and technical, job is demanding at times"

I have been working at Grant Thornton full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Very technical and respectful partners -Culture of respect -Resources of a national firm (someone has an answer to your questions) -Midmarket clients may give you more relaxed hours compared to Big 4, but could be seen as a con if you're looking for more tax technical issues

    Cons

-Benefits are subpar. Forget about having decent dental and extended medical -Some partners are very demanding and expect emails and responses to be done after hours depending on your service line -Salary is also subpar -Recent COVID 19 measures has led to a lot of job uncertainty and slashed hours and pay -IT is definitely awful, with frequent crashes and lagtimes and the worst email spam filter I've ever seen
